Ashton A. Simmons
Prior to joining LBG, Ashton was Assistant Vice President for Seritage Growth Properties in their real estate development team working on retail and multi-family projects and assisting with asset dispositions. Ashton helped spearhead opportunity zone, economic incentive and ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) initiatives for the company. Before joining Seritage, Ashton worked in asset management on the east and west coasts for Westfield, Brookfield (Rouse Properties) and CenterCal Properties. Ashton has experience managing high-profile shopping centers before, during and after redevelopment as well as grand opening a ground up mixed-use destination lifestyle center. Ashton successfully drove net operating income, created and implemented innovative marketing strategies and cultivated strong political and community relationships while juggling multiple large regional malls that were undergoing over $100M in redevelopment. Prior to entering the shopping center industry, Ashton had similar roles and responsibilities in the gasoline and convenience store industry.
Ashton is an active member of ICSC and currently a Board Member for the West Pikeland Township Historic Architectural Review Board (HARB). While living and managing properties in the San Francisco Bay Area, Ashton was on the Board or a Member of several Chambers of Commerce, YMCA of the East Bay, East Bay Leadership Council, St. Rose Hospital Foundation, Alameda County Workforce Investment Board and Rotary Club.
Ashton obtained a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Hofstra University School of Law; Masters in Business Administration (M.B.A.) from DeVry University / Keller Graduate School of Management; and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Finance from Morgan State University.
